CCSB Denies Use of Kingsland School for Political Event

Body

The Cleveland County School Board voted 4-2 to deny a request by a candidate for Kingsland mayor to use the Kingsland School auditorium for an event. Some of the school board members were concerned about allowing school facilities to be used for political purposes.

During the conversation, it was pointed out that the facility is open to other candidates as well, but the board ultimately decided against it. Board president Harrell Wilson said it would set a precedent moving forward.
