Wendy James, business manager for the City of Kingsland, informed the Kingsland City Council that the city’s general fund finished 2025 with about $20,000 than projected while the road fund finished with about $15,000 more than expected.

She attributed both surpluses to keeping an eye on expenses, noting that the city is not yet receiving sales tax revenue from the Dollar General. Meanwhile, council member Linda Burns said she has received some responses from the first round of certified letters sent to the owners of unkempt properties. She and Mayor Karen Wiscaver said they avhe both noticed some improvements with some of those properties. Burns said she intends to send out another round of certified letters once the original round has a little more time to respond.
