Two Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Copper at Old New Edinburg School

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department reported that at approximately 3:12 a.m. this morning (Friday, Jan. 9) a concerned citizen contacted the Sheriff's Department to report suspicious activity around the New Edinburg School building.  Deputies responded and were able to apprehend two males coming out of the building.  Deputies found evidence indicating the two were in the process of stealing copper from the building.  Both men were arrested and transported to the Cleveland County Jail.  Those arrested were Jarod Langford, 35, of New Edinburg, and Taylor Stanford, 31, of Fordyce.  Both men were arrested on charges of Commercial Burglary and Criminal Attempt at Theft of Property.  A probable cause hearing will be scheduled and information will be provided to the prosecuting attorney to file formal charges against the men.
