Kingsland Fire Department Gets New Turnout

During its January meeting, the Kingsland City Council approved the purchase of new eight new sets of turnout gear for the Kingsland Volunteer Fire Department to improve firefighter safety. The cost for the fire retardant jackets and pants was $26,332.

Council members also discussed possible options for an older fire truck after it garnered no bids when put up for sale. No final decision was made about the old truck. Council member Linda Burns also asked about repairing some potholse while also giving an update on efforts to clean up neglected properties around town.
