County Judge, Sheriff Forum Set for Thursday

The Cleveland County Republican Party will be hosting a political forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, in the Family Life Center at Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 2230 Hwy. 35 North near Rison. County Judge candidates Jim Houston of the Rye community, Stephen McClellan of New Edinburg, Rosemary Sinclair of the Staves community and Rickey Spencer of Kingsland and Sheriff candidates Vance “Lee” Freeman of Rison, Keden Shrum of Rison and Brad Young of Rowell have been invited to participate. The public is invited to attend. The Cleveland County Herald is planning to live stream the forum through its Facebook page. Pat Berry with the Cleveland County Republican Party noted that the event will be set up as a forum rather than a debate in that all the candidates will be allowed to respond to the same questions. Berry said the questions will not be revealed to the candidates until the forum.
