The Woodlawn School Board rejected a $200,000 offer to purchase 33 acres near campus after determining that only about eight acres were suitable for building due to low-lying land. Superintendent Kevin Hancock had offered up to $165,000 based on an appraisal, but negotiations stalled. The board approved a $4,001 GoGuardian software subscription to better monitor and restrict student Chromebook use, particularly to curb AI-assisted assignments. Members also split contracts for the cafeteria expansion and career education center to streamline construction. Hancock’s contract was extended to 2029, and several staff retirements and resignations were approved.
