The two candidates agreed of several issues with both opposing to county taking any kind of steps to make landowners leave a barrier of trees around the perimeter of the property to help hide clear cuts, and both saying the county is limited in what it can do to address abandoned properties in the county due to private property rights. Houston touted his 35 years experience in working with industry across the world while McClellan pointed to his track record of getting grants and having connections with his years of experience working county government.

Early voting for the runoff election begins Tuesday, March 24, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore in Rison. Polls will be open across the county on election day Tuesday, March 31.
