RISON - The Cleveland County Cycopaths bicycle group, along with the Cleveland County Master Gardeners, County Cultivators EH Club, and the Cleveland County Extension Office, have launched "Miles for Memory," a fundraising project to build garden beds at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills for the dementia residents of Sipes Cottage.
During the month of April, Cycopath riders will be putting in miles to meet pledges you make.
As a pledger, you can choose the rider/riders you want to sponsor. Pledge the amount you want to donate for each mile a Cycopath rides. This will be miles accrued during the entire month of April.
Cycopath members include: Lauren Threlkeld, Julia Meyer, Bruce Grubb, Alicia Woody, Travis Bell, Ernie Westfall and Les Walz.
Additionally, a single donation of your choosing in any amount can be made instead of pledging.
Cycopaths will be keeping up with their respective mileage. Pledgers can post in the “Cleveland County Cycopaths” Facebook Group to be added to the pledge list, or can contact the Cleveland County Extension Office (ask for Renee Walraven Hunthrop) at 870-325-6321.
According to Les Walz, for full transparency, average mileage per rider now is close to 50 miles per week.
“But know if you pledge to this mission, our riders will probably push those miles on up,” he said.
