Kingsland Approves Up to $55,000 For Fire Truck

Body

The Kingsland City Council approved spending up to $55,000 for a used fire truck to give the Kingsland Fire Department a second pumper as the other trucks are no longer functioning. Fire Chief Tevin Mitchell told the council that should something happen to the fire department’s single operating pumper truck, they would be unable to respond to the fire. Mayor Karen Wiscaver also pointed out the lack of proper equipment can also impact the Kingsland Fire Department’s ISO rating, which is partially based on the equipment a fire department has. The lower a fire department’s ISO rating, the lower insurance premium can be within that department’s service area.
