Lowell Conrad Reed, 87, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. 

He was born on September 5, 1938, in Woodlawn, Arkansas, to Homer H. Reed and Ellen Berry Reed.

Lowell graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1956 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1960.

Lowell dedicated 33 years of his career to ConocoPhillips, working primarily in the Houston and New York City areas. He served eight years with the Army National Guard, one of which was active duty at Fort Hood, Texas.

An avid outdoorsman, Lowell had a deep passion for fishing—especially fly fishing in Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska, as well as bonefishing in the Bahamas. In his younger years, he also enjoyed golfing. He was a kind-hearted soul who was considerate of others. He will be remembered for his thoughtfulness.

Following his career with ConocoPhillips, Lowell and his wife, Nancy, spent many years ranching in Leander, Texas, where they raised Texas Longhorn cattle.

Lowell and Nancy shared 39 wonderful years of marriage.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Anderson Reed; his brother, H. Kenneth Reed and wife Gloria; and stepbrother James Carroll Wilson and wife Margie, and a host of other family members.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ruby Lee Reed; his brothers, Rowland and Homer Reed; his sister, Juanita Reed; his nephews, Marlon Reed and David Reed; and his grandson, Cameron Tankersley.

Graveside Service was April 20, 2026, at 2 p.m., Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Section: Fountain of Memories, 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
