RISON - Members of the Rison High School and Rison Junior High FBLA chapters recently returned from the FBLA National Leadership Conference held June 29–July 2, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Students who qualified at the Arkansas FBLA State Leadership Conference in April earned the opportunity to compete against top students from across the nation and Puerto Rico.
The Rison High School FBLA chapter was recognized on stage during the Central Region Rally as a Champion Chapter – Silver Level. This national recognition is awarded to chapters that demonstrate excellence throughout the year by participating in leadership activities, community service projects, professional development, and other FBLA programs.
Representing Rison High School at the national conference were Marcela Castillo and Ashleigh Johnson, who competed in Business Ethics, and Bailey Hood, who competed in Insurance and Risk Management.
Rison Junior High students Kathryn Jackson and Elsie Wendel competed in Exploring Digital Video and earned an outstanding third-place finish in the nation. Their video highlighted the importance of preventing bullying on social media and encouraging positive online interactions.
The conference provided students with opportunities to compete, attend leadership workshops, network with FBLA members from across the country, and celebrate their accomplishments. The Rison FBLA chapters are advised by Kim Kaye King and Caitlin Morrison. The advisers are proud of the students’ dedication and the way they represented Rison, their school, and the state of Arkansas at the national level.
