Cleveland County School Superintendent Davy King told the school board Monday that officials are working to address a 20-minute ambulance response to a July 21 medical emergency involving a Rison Junior High football player.
The ambulance normally stationed near campus was out on another call, while a backup unit was coming from outside the county. Officials discussed possible solutions, including a THRIVE grant to help fund a second county ambulance.
King also reported the new school gym is about two weeks ahead of schedule and the bus drop-off drive is complete.
The board approved curriculum, playground improvements and other business while declining a policy that to allow remote school board attendance.
