HERMITAGE - Raylon Lawson scored 21 points and grabbed 23 rebounds as the Woodlawn Bears blew out the Hermitage Hermits, 53-35, Monday night on the road.
Woodlawn Coach Logan Adair said the Bears played man-toman defense for the entire game, a first for him in his nine-year career of leading the program. Adair said he was pleased with the results, considering that Hermitge had scored 34 in the first half alone on their last meeting.
With Jude Roberts sidelined with an illness, much of Woodlawn's scoring was left to Lawson. In addition to leading all scorers and rebounders, the senior also dished out six assists and had five steals.
Garrett Weatherford also finished in double figures with 10 points and four assists. Hadyen Rushing had nine points.
Woodlawn improved to 4-3 overall with the victory.
