John Douglas “Doug” Johnson, 69, passed away peacefully at home under the care of his wife on April 7, 2026, in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Doug was born on March 2, 1957, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to John and Patsy Johnson. He graduated from Chapel Academy and went on to become a journeyman lineman after attending apprentice school.

In 1976, he married the love of his life, Danna Lynn Oliger, and together they built a life centered on their 4 boys.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Johnson of Sulphur, Louisiana; his four sons, Jordan (Katie), Jared (Kristen), Jameson (Megan), and John-Clark (Chassa); and nephew Julian (Sam) and their 3 children, along with his 12 cherished grandchildren; Bridgette, Madison, Jeremiah, Chandler, Cainen, Cole, Clayton, Maxwell, Cam, Mason, Jack, and Baker Johnson. He also leaves behind his sister, Sonya Lee (Roger), along with many nieces and nephews; Kristopher, Keith, Katie, and Megan who will miss him dearly. Doug was predeceased by his parents John and Patsy, nephew Chad Lee and great niece Julianna Grace Rhodes.

Doug was an avid hunter and fisherman who found great joy in nature. He loved spending time with his family, being outdoors, especially on Saline River, or working in his garden. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his love of the outdoors, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

The family would like to especially thank Heart of Hospice-Southwest for their dedicated caregivers who gave Doug comfort in his last days.

Doug’s legacy lives on in his sons and grandchildren.
