10  YEARS  AGOSEPTEMBER  24,  2014After receiving a tip from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department apprehended a man in Rison last Thursday that is accused of being involved in a bank robbery at Benton in May. Cameron Arnold, 29, of Pine Bluff, was arrested at the Hwy. 79-35 intersection in Rison. Arnold is suspected of being connected to the May 15 robbery of the Bank of the Ozarks in Benton.Rison alderman Curtis Hopper, 87, who has served on the Rison City Council for the past 23 years, died Friday, leaving a vacancy on the six-member council. Last November, Hopper announced that he would not be seeking re-election this year. Curtis Marks was the only candidate to file for Hopper's seat, and will not be officially elected to the position until after the November general election. Rison Mayor Vernon Dollar said Tuesday that he would suggest to the council during its next regular meeting October 7 to appoint Marks to fill the remainder of Hopper's term.Drew Robertson, 17, a junior at Woodlawn High School, died Tuesday night after being involved in a collision at Star City.Madison Brown, 17-year-old senior at Woodlawn High School, was crowned "Miss Cleveland County" Saturday night during the annual Cleveland County Fair. The Green House Cottages of Southern Hills at Rison was one of 28 organizations from throughout the state that were presented Arkansas Governor's Quality Awards by Gov.
