MONTICELLO - Woodlawn junior weightlifter Jude Rauls continued his assault on the state record books by setting three new high marks in the 148pound classification at the Arkansas High School Powerlifting Association State Meet held this past Saturday at Monticello.Woodlawn swept the top two positions in the 148-pound class with Rauls winning the class and teammate Aiden Moore finishing second. The meet included lifters from Class 2A to Class 6A/7A schools.Powerlifting includes three lifts: squat, bench press and dead lift. Those three lifts are added together for an overall total.Rauls set new state records in the bench press, dead lift and the overall total. All three of those were also personal bests for him. After lifting 330 in the squat, he lifted a state record 285 in the bench press and a state record 425 in the dead lift. His overall total of 1,040 was also a state record.Moore, meanwhile, tied or set new personal bests in all of his lifts to finish second: 335 in the squat (tie), 205 in the bench press (tie), 380 in the dead lift (new personal) and 920 overall (new personal).The other top five lifters in the 148 class included Tripp Lanehart of Monticello, Donovan Livingston of Parkers Chapel, and Andrew Noble of Bentonville West.Kameron Manes finished third at the state meet in the 308pound classification. He lifted 420 in the squat, 210 in the bench press, and 400 in the dead lift for 1,030 total. Manes set personal bests in the dead lift and overall total.Rauls, Moore and Manes were the only Woodlawn lifters to finish among the Top 5 in their respective classifications.Ethan Adair and Michael Wright finished 7th and 8th, respectively, in the 165-pound class. Adair lifted 275 in the squat, 175 in the bench press, and 340 in the dead lift for a 790 total. Wright lifted 285 in the squat, 150 in the bench press and 330 in the dead lift for a 765 total.
