Boards Approve School Choice Policies

RISON - Both the Cleveland County and Woodlawn School Boards approved Arkansas School Board Association (ASBA) model policies Monday night that will change how school districts accept student transfer applications under the state’s School Choice Act. The new policy goes into effect Jan. 1.

The Rison High School Student of the Month for November for grades 7-9 is Brody Howard. Brody is in 8th grade and is the son of Kelsey Lephiew, Robert Lephiew, Tony Howard, and Marcie Howard. Brody’s activities include baseball, hunting, fishing, going to church, and spending time with family.

4-H Outdoor Skills Club

RISON - Members of the 4-H Outdoor Skills Club take target practice during their meeting last Thursday at the Pioneer Village in Rison.  In this class, club members went over gun safety and learned the firing line commands that will be part of the statewide 4-H Outdoor Skills competition next year.

Small Ruminant Workshop Set For Dec. 13 at Sheridan
