Kingsland Votes To Increase Fines For Unrestrained Dogs

KINGSLAND - The Kingsland City Council approved increasing the fines for unrestrained dogs, and discussed a new round of letters going out to property owners who have properties that are not in compliance with city ordinances.

Back To School Bash, Pageant Aug. 2 in Rison

RISON - Rison Shine Community Development will host a Back To School Bash Friday, Aug. 2 in Downtown Rison.The event will include life-size games such as connect four, jenga, and more beginning at 5 p.m. on Main Street.The event will also feature the Miss Rison Shine Pageant at 7 p.m.

Rison City Council Will Meet on July 9

RISON - The Rison City Council will hold its July regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Rison City Hall. The city council voted during its June meeting to move the July meeting as to not conflict with the Independence Day holiday week.

Community Fireworks Show To Be Held Saturday Night

RISON - The Green Cottages of Southern Hills will be hosting its community fireworks show beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the nursing home in Rison.The fireworks show will be held on the main drive-through the nursing home closest to the Hwy. 35 (Main Street) entrance.

KINGSLAND - Increasing fines for violating the city's dog ordinance and getting rid of abandoned house trailers will be two of items that Mayor Sharon Crosby said she would like to address during the this month's Kingsland City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Kingsland City Hall.
