Rison To Begin Work on Water Projects

RISON - Renovations to the first of the City of Rison's two water tanks is expected to begin this week after Mayor Charles Roberts told the Rison City Council that the city will finally begin executing the more than $7 million in grants to improve its water and sewer systems.

Wylie Returning To Woodlawn On Interim Basis

WOODLAWN - Former Woodlawn High School Principal Jeff Wylie has been hired to serve as the interim principal of Woodlawn Elementary in order to give the school district more time to find a permanent replacement for Heather Cox, who resigned from the position after one year on the job.

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted in June meeting to move its July meeting to 7:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 11, in the administration building.

Herald Office Will Be Closed July 4-5

RISON - The Cleveland County Herald office will be closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5, in observance of the Indpendence Day holiday, Publisher Britt Talent has announced. The Herald will resume its regular business hours at 8 a.m. Monday, July 8.

Woodlawn School District Sets Public Auction for July 13

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School District will be liquidating some equipment, furnishings and more through a live public auction beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at the school, Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock has announced.

The New Edinburg class of '57 and friends were blessed to have another gathering on June 22, 2024. John L. McClellan hosted the group again at The Bridge Creek Lodge in New Edinburg. Our first gathering was May 16, 2015, when we started making memories with twenty-four in attendance.
