VFW Fish Fry, Blood Drive Feb. 17

PINE BLUFF - The VFW Post 4455 will hold a fish fry fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 1518 East Harding in Pine Bluff. The cost is $15 per plate. The Blood Mobile will also be onsite from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. conducting a blood drive.

Rison Elementary Monday - rotini & meatballs or bosco sticks. Tuesday - Mardi Gras! Red beans & rice or a turkey Po'boy. Wednesday - Chicken Alfredo or Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Thursday - chili cheese dog or hamburger. Friday - pizza, pizza and sidekicks (+nachos for 4-6 grade).

RISON - The District III High school FBLA Convention was held at the Grand Prairie Center in Stuttgart on February 5, 2023. The Rison FBLA Club had thirty-one students qualify for the Arkansas Student Leadership Conference at Little Rock in April and received the following honors.

RISON - Dylan Dedman, a junior at Rison High School, was elected as the Arkansas State Beta Club Secretary in the 81st annual Arkansas Senior Beta Club Convention. This is the eighth consecutive secretarial candidate win for Rison High School. The candidate's campaign skit placed 5th overall.

RISON - The County Board of Election Commission will conduct a public test of election equipment on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Hall-Morgan Veteran's Building at 404 Sycamore Street in Rison. The public is encouraged to observe.

Cummings Sees Slow Progress on Roads

RISON - County Judge Jimmy Cummings informed the Cleveland County Quorum Court Monday night that the county road department has a challenge on its hands trying to repair county roads in the wake of an extended winter storm followed by heavy rain.

Broadband Committee To Launch Speed Test
