RISON - The Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Office at Rison will be holding a travelling bangs vaccination clinic for heifer cattle on Nov. 6. Any person that has heifer cattle 4 to 12 months old that would like to have the bangs vaccination should call the Extension Office at (870) 3256321 by Oct. 27 to schedule an appointment. When calling, please provide the number of heifers to be vaccinated as well as directions to your farm.
Vaccination routes will be developed from the responses received and each participating producer will be notified on the approximate time their farm will be visited. The vaccinations will be administered by a representative from the Arkansas Livestock & Poultry Commission.
It is necessary that facilities are in good working order and have a working chute and head gate to ensure the safety of the technicians and heifers.
