Rison Student's Photograph Selected for Governor's Young Artist Competition

RISON - Braden Matthews, a junior at Rison High School submitted a photograph to the 2024 Governor's Young Artist Competition with the theme being 'The Natural State.'Matthews' photograph titled 'Sunrise Before the Hunt,' taken at DeWitt, was one of 53 finalists selected from over three hundred plus entries for the 2024 Mansion Exhibit. Matthews was one of two stu-dents selected from the south Arkansas area. He is the son of Mark and Amy Matthews of Kingsland.His photograph will be exhibited in the Governor's 2024 Mansion Exhibit at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock, AR. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and First Gentleman Bryan Sanders will host a reception and awards ceremony May 3 for the finalists.
