Mt. Lebanon MBC Revival June 2-4

NEW EDINBURG - Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church, located in New Edinburg, will be in revival June 2-4. Services will begin at 7 p.m.  Bro. Scott Smith will be the evangelist and Bro. Ware Russell is the pastor. The church will have a potluck dinner on June 4 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Local Students Nominated Arkansas Boys State 2025

LITTLE ROCK - More than 610 of the state's brightest young men, representing 207 high schools throughout the state, will attend Arkansas Boys State, an immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion.

RISON - The race for a seat on the Woodlawn School Board is now down to two candidates after David White informed the Cleveland County Clerk’s office last week that he has officially withdrawn from the race.

Freeman Joins Sheriff’s Race

RISON - A third candidate has entered the race for Cleveland County sheriff as Vance “Lee” Freeman of the Rison area, an active law enforcement officer with the Pine Bluff Police Department, officially announced his bid through his personal Facebook page last Thursday.

Baseball, Softball Teams Earn Bids to Regionals

RISON - The baseball and softball teams at both Rison and Woodlawn High School have earned bids to their respective regional tournaments that are scheduled to begin this Thursday, May 8.

County Approves Building Bid

RISON - The Cleveland County Quorum approved County Judge Jimmy Cummings’ recommendation Monday night to go with a pole barn construction system with concrete floors to create a new storage building for the county’s voting machines.
