America’s 250th anniversary celebration kicks off next week as the Arkansas National Guard’s statewide “Fly Over Arkansas” tour passes over Rison on Tuesday, June 30. The flyover, featuring either UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters or C-130 Hercules aircraft, is part of a four-day salute visiting communities across Arkansas.
Specific times and routes as to when the flyovers will take place will be announced closer to the event through the Arkansas National Guard and the “Flyover Arkansas” event page on Facebook.
The celebration will continue locally on Saturday, July 4, with a free Fourth of July Community Celebration hosted by American Legion Post 83, followed that evening by Pioneer Village’s Family Fun Fourth of July Celebration featuring food, music by Laura Caroline, and the Rison Community Fireworks Show sponsored by Green House Cottages of Southern Hills Community.
