Bears Advance to Regional Semifinals

The Woodlawn Bears defeated the Dierks Outlaws 11-3 in the Region 4 Tournament opener at Murfreesboro, capitalizing on 14 combined walks and hit batters to secure the victory. Tyler French led the offense with a 3-for-3 performance, while pitcher Tyner Burris earned the win by allowing no walks over 4.2 innings. Woodlawn's consistent scoring, including a three-run second and third inning, sealed the win. The Bears earn an automatic bid to the Class 2A state tournament next week at Harrison with Thursday’s win. They play the Ouachita Warriors at 2:30 p.m. today (Friday, May 8) in Murfreesboro in the semifinal game. Should Woodlawn win, it will play in the regional championship game at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, May 9). If not, the Bears will play at noon in the third-place game at Murfreesboro.
