Mayor Charles Roberts introduced new utilities director Gene Norton to the Rison City Council Tuesday night. Norton has decades of experience in chemistry, wastewater management and environmental regulation, and plans to pursue grants for replacing aging water lines while working to bring the city’s wastewater system into full ADEQ compliance. The council also learned the Rison Fire Department found a used fire truck in Maryland for $50,000. In other business, the city transferred ownership of a Main Street building to businessman Austin Saeler after his business successfully operated there for two years.
