Lady Bears Blow Out Spring Hill, 16-0

Body

Woodlawn dominated Spring Hill 16-0 in three innings to open the regional tournament, fueled by a massive 15-run first inning. The Lady Bears racked up 18 hits, including seven doubles and a home run by Molly Shelby. Early doubles by Jaci Hoyt, Kendall Tooke, and Laci Rauls set the tone, and the offense never slowed. Multiple players recorded two hits each in the blowout. Rauls earned the win, pitching two hitless innings with six strikeouts, while Karsyn Chastain closed the game. The win assures the Lady Bears a berth in the Class 2A state tournament next week at Harrison. Woodlawn will play Poyen at 2:30 p.m. today in the regional semifinals. If the Lady Bears win, they will play at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, May 9) in the finals. If they lose, they will play at noon tomorrow in the third-place game.
