The Woodlawn Lady Bears advanced to the Class 2A State Championship game with an 8-4 semifinal win over defending champion Riverside at Palestine-Wheatley High School. Woodlawn scored six of its runs with two outs, taking advantage of key opportunities throughout the game. Laci Rauls struck out 14 batters over 6 1/3 innings despite battling illness, while freshman Molly Shelby recorded the final two outs to seal the victory. Addison Holland led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Kendall Tooke added a home run. Earlier in the tournament, Woodlawn shut out Cotter 3-0 and East Poinsett County 6-0 behind dominant pitching performances from Shelby and Rauls.
