Roberts Seeks Volunteers to Help With LMI Survey

Body

Rison Mayor Charles Roberts is seeking volunteers to help conduct a door-to-door income survey to determine whether the city's low-to-moderate income (LMI) rate exceeds the current 47.9% established by the 2020 Census. A volunteer meeting is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Rison City Hall. Reaching the 51% LMI threshold would make Rison eligible for additional state and federal grant funding, including assistance for a new fire truck. The survey will include households within the Rison Fire Department service area and will ask four basic questions, including whether household income falls above or below a specified income level, without requesting exact income amounts.
