Sheriff’s Department Issues Scam Alert

    The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department issued an alert this week of residents getting text messages on their phones notifying them of a “formal notice of traffic hearing.” The sheriff’s department stated the the notice is a scam.  Anyone who receives it is advised to block the caller and do not respond.  Courts do not send text or phone messages regarding court business.
