New Banners Are Up In Kingsland

KINGSLAND - Anyone driving through Kingsland lately will notice a series of banners put up around town welcoming visitors to town. Many of the banners simply say "Welcome to Kingsland" while others are in memory of someone. The banners feature one of three pieces of artwork, a greyhound representing the Kingsland Greyhounds, a train representing the town's connection to the railroad, and a silhouette of its most famous native son, Johnny Cash. Kelly Taylor with Kickstart Kingsland said 15 flags were mounted throughout town, two of which were memorial flags. She said the funding for the flags came through donations made at the Kingsland All-School Reunion as well as fund raised through the Johnny and June Chili Supper....
