Ken Clements

Body

Paul Kenneth Clements, of Dardanelle, died in his home on Friday, January 10th, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1943, in Kingsland, Arkansas.

Ken was a 1961 graduate of Kingsland High School and graduated with a Master of Civil Engineering in 1967 from the University of Arkansas. He went to work for the US Soil Conservation Service where he worked on flood water retarding dams. In 1964, he moved to work in DeWitt, Arkansas where he worked on farm drainage and irrigation. It was at that time where he met his beloved wife, Shirley Lynnette Paschall. Ken and Shirley married in 1969 and in 1971 they moved to Little Rock for Ken to work in the State Office. In 1979, Ken went to work for the

U.S. Forest Service in the Ouchita National Forest where he was building and designing timber sale roads. Later the same year, he and his family moved to Dardanelle where he began working in the Ozark National Forest as Facilities Engineer. Ken retired in 2003, after over 30 years of service with the Federal Government.

Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Lynnette Paschall Clements and 4 sons: Paul Clifton Clements, wife Allison Clements and daughter Chaney Clements; Justin Thad Clements, wife Anna Clements; James David Clements, wife Diana Qin and daughters Anabel Qin Clements and Mirabel Qin Clements; Silas Wade Clements; and Ken’s big sister Frances Harper.

Ken will be remembered for his acts of service that he so generously poured out onto his family, friends and his church family. He loved to use his talent for woodworking to turn out biscuit bowls and teach others to make his famous dough banger biscuits the old-fashioned way. He was also known for using his talents to make furniture among other things for his family. There usually was not a problem that Ken couldn’t find a very clever solution to. He had an engineer’s mind, and it showed in all that he did. He loved gardening, reading, studying health and wellness, fishing and reloading. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and servant of the Lord. He will be truly missed!!!
