RISON - The Cleveland County Sheriff's Department recently participated in the Statewide Drug Take-Back Program. The program gives citizens a secure location to dispose of unused medications. Those medications were taken to the department's dispatch center within the County Jail. Upon receipt, sheriff-elect Brad Young said the dispatcher conducts a thorough pill count and issues a receipt to the individual surrendering the medications. Following the count and documentation, the medications were stored securely in the designated lockbox near the dispatcher's room. Young said the disposal process protects families from potential harm caused by unused and unwanted medications. ...
