The Woodlawn Lady Bears (26-6) will face the East Poinsett County Lady Warriors (19-5) at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the opening round of the Class 2A State Softball Tournament hosted by Palestine-Wheatley High School. Woodlawn comes in as the no. 2 seed from Region 4 while EPC is the no. 3 seed from Region 2.
The Lady Bears received the no. 2 seed after the Horatio Lady Lions scored three runs over the final two innings to pull out a 4-3 victory over Woodlawn in the Region 4 championship game on Saturday at Murfreesboro. Woodlawn knocked off Spring Hill 16-0 in the first round of the regional tournament before getting past Poyen 4-2 in the semifinals on Friday to make Saturday’s finals.
