The Woodlawn School Board took part in a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday evening to officially start construction on the new cafeteria expansion. Brody Richardson of Brody Richardson Construction in Sheridan told Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock that construction will begin in earnest this Tuesday after the Memorial Day holiday. Richardson said previously that the plans are to tear out the existing wall where the expansion will be built and have a new temporary well set up in hits place by the time school resumes in August. Meanwhile, the board also took action on some personnel matters during the meeting, naming Logan Adair as the new girls basketball coach after Autumn Lem left to take another job. In addition, former Woodlawn basketball standout Luke Roberts was hired as an assistant boys and girls basketball coach.
