    Kingsland City Council accepted three resignations Thursday night, including Mayor Karen Wiscaver, Water Operator Caleb Parker and Office Manager Wendy James. To fill the vacancy in the role of Kingsland mayor, the council voted to appoint Mayor-elect Samantha Johnson. Johnson will finish out Wiscaver's term through Dec. 31, 2026 before beginning her own term Jan. 1, 2027. The Council also approved hiring Joe Freyer as a temporary water operator for shut-off purposes until the position can be filled. The Council voted to make a $5,000 contribution to Kickstart Kingsland's Get Rhythm Music Festival.
