Over 50 Vendors Set Up, Free Concerts Including Country Star Bryan White
RISON - The 36th annual Rison in the Fall Festival will take place this Saturday, Oct. 10 with 90s Country Music Icon Bryan White taking the Rise Up Rison Stage at 7 p.m.
According to Festival Director Douglas Boultinghouse, this year’s event will feature over 50 vendors and food trucks with a variety of items and foods.
“We have BBQ, burgers, southern foods, and everyone’s favorite cheesecake,” he said. “Plus crafts, décor and sweet treats from vendors along Main Street.”
Boultinghouse said the community can expect street closures to begin Friday afternoon, Oct. 9 between 3 and 5 p.m. to prepare for the arrival of the stage.
Festivities will kick off Saturday morning with the Fall into Fitness 5K Run, Walk and Ride event hosted by Absolute Health at 8 a.m., located at the corner of Third and Pine Streets.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m.
This will be followed by the Joe Cook Memorial Horseshoe Tournament in the same area at 10 a.m.
Attendees of these activities are asked to stay in away from Main Street during the set up of vendor booths and food trucks which will be happening simultaneously up the street.
The festival itself will open at 12 p.m. to the public for shopping and eating with the vendors.
The music will begin at 1 p.m. with genre-bending rebel spirit Whoa Dakota, viral star of The Voice and the Water Tower song Cori Kennedy at 2:30 p.m., Arkansas’ own country outlaw Ward Putman at 4 p.m., special guest Americana singer-songwriter Ward Davis at 5:30 p.m.
These performances lead up to the headlining set from Bryan White, who has amassed six number one hits and sold over 5 million albums.
The concerts are free to the public. Attendees should bring their lawn chairs and set up along Main and Third Streets to watch the concerts.
Freedom Assembly will have bounce houses set up for kids to play. Additionally some of the vendors are offering kids activities.
