Extension Woodworking Workshop

EXTENSION HOSTS WOODWORKING WORKSHOP AT FAIRGROUNDS - Last Tuesday and Wednesday February 21-22, Cleveland County held a Basic Woodworking Workshop at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. There were five participants enrolled in the workshop, where they learned how to use tools ranging from a tape measure and combination square to a router and miter saw. Participants then used the “learn by doing” approach and chose a project to build. The result was card holders, an iPad holder, a sign, three Adirondack chairs, and tool boxes. More than that, it was a good opportunity to fellowship, learn, laugh, and make some memories. Mr. Keith Gresham, Staff Chair and CEA Agent in Dallas County, served as instructor for the workshop. Gresham also allowed us access to his tools and donated materials. A big thank you to him! Also, thanks to Billy Bowlin for helping with the projects and to Mr. Roy Phillips for helping make the workshop go smoothly. This event was hosted by Cleveland County Extension Agent David West.
