Roy Victor Baggett, 90, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2023. He was born on January 11, 1933 in Pine Bluff to the late Ben and Ruby Walker. Mr. Baggett was in the Air Force and served in Germany and stateside. He was a barber for several years. He worked and retired after 32 years from the Pine Bluff Arsenal.
Mr. Baggett was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Kent Baggett.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Shirley Baggett; his children, Vicki Spradlin of Dover, Kirby Baggett (Carla) of Benton, and daughter-in-law, Annette Baggett of Rison; seven grandchildren, Casey Spradlin (Jennifer), Sean Spradlin, Derik McCoy, Jacob Baggett, Laura Branson (Bryan), Brad Baggett (Casey), and Madeline Dunlap (Ryan); 11 great-grandchildren, Ryan Hyatt, Mackenzie Spradlin, Madison Spradlin, Riley Hyatt, Leland Smith, Audrey Branson, Mack McCoy, Autumn Branson, Lincoln Baggett, Eli Dunlap, and Joshua Dunlap; a sister, Marilyn Williamson; and a brother, Jessie Rawls.
A graveside service was held Monday, October 9, 2023, at Greenwood Cemetery in Rison with Bro. Wes Sparks officiating. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rison High School 1950 State Championship Scholarship Fund in memory of Roy Baggett.
