Spears said that all the departments that operate within county budget submitted budgets that were well within the projected revenues for 2015, which made last week's budget meeting more of a formality than a time to hash out budget cuts. The county's budget for 2015 was put at $1,426,745, with total expenditures for county general projected to be $1,408,862, leaving the county with an extra $17,883.97.The Woodlawn School District was notified last week that it will be receiving a $150,000 grant from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas to build an "Outdoor Fitness Trail" around campus that will be available for public use.The Rison Wildcats rallied in the fourth quarter to nip the Hector Wildcats, 38-30, in the second round of the Class 2A state football playoffs at Hector last Friday night. The Wildcats scored the winning touchdown with just 1:09 left in the game after trailing, 30-24, until less than 5 minutes were remaining. Rison, 11-1 on the season, will travel to Hazen this Friday for a quarterfinal clash with the 12-0 Hornets.The Brinkley Tigers held off a second half rally by Woodlawn to defeat the Bears, 27-14, in the second round of the Class 2A state football playoffs last Friday night at Woodlawn.
