EXTENSION CANNING WORKSHOP - Last Friday, Nov. 18, 2022. Cleveland County had another successful food preservation workshop at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds meeting room/kitchen. This event was hosted by Cleveland County Family and Consumer Science Extension Agent Danielle Watson. In this workshop, participants learned through hands-on experience at a minimal cost. 10 participants attended, where they learned the process of canning and quick pickling using the boiling water bath method. Participants made Tomato Salsa and Sweet Pickle Rings that they were able to take home at the end of the workshop. Participants are also encouraged to enter their canned goods into the 2023 Cleveland County Fair.
