RISON -Woodlawn had three players named All-State and six others placed on the All-Conference team following the Bears’ 10-1 season that included a South Conference championship and a state runner-up finish.Those named to the All-State team were sophomore running back/ defensive back Griffin Manes, senior offensive/defensive lineman Aiden Powell, and junior quarterback/defensive back Ethan Saeler.Manes finished with 1,527 yards rushing on 187 carries to average nearly 8.2 yards per carry. He eclipsed the 200-yard rushing mark twice, including a season-high 219 against Dermott. He rushed for more than 100 yards six times and had 23 rushing touchdowns on the year.Powell was a standout along the offensive line all season as the Bears used a dominant run game to go undefeated in conference play. He also proved to be a run-stopper on defense.Saeler finished the year with 1,967 yards rushing while scoring 36 touchdowns on the ground. He also threw for 728 yards to account for another nine touchdowns. Saeler ran for a season-best 345 yards against Rector in the state semifinals. He also broke the 200-yard mark in two other games and had more than 100 yards rushing in six other games.Dakota Campbell, a senior, earned All-Conference honors as a two-way starter along the offensive and defensive lines. A three-year starter, Campbell registered several tackles for losses over the season and was awarded the Brandon Burlsworth Award after the state championship game.Matthew Green, a senior, earned All-Conference as a defensive standout throughout the year, being named Defensive Player of the Game several times by defensive coordinator Alan Neill. He also contributed as a tight end on offense.Beau Watson, another senior All-Conference selection, developed into a dependable target at tight end with 29 catches for 387 yards and eight touchdowns.
