Organizers Are Extending Junk Hunt Through Sunday

RISON - While rain and storms hampered nearly all four days of the spring run of the Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt last week, many found success. But for those who didn’t, the organizers have extended the hunt.

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn School Board meeting original scheduled for Monday, April 14 has been moved to Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m.Superintendent Kevin Hancock reminded those not registered to vote to register by April 14 to be eligible for the May school board election.

RISON - The Busy Bees Extension Homemakers Club at Kingsland is holding a barbeque fundraiser May 17 to start a scholarship fund in memory of Callie Weems and Roy Sturgis, two Kingsland residents who were victims of the Fordyce mass shooting.

RISON - Rison High School FFA is hosting an Auction and Burger Dinner Thursday, April 24 at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Food starts at 5 p.m. as well as the silent auction. The live auction will begin at 6 p.m. and the silent auction will close at 6 p.m.
