Gracen White Crowned Rison Homecoming Queen

RISON - Rison High School crowned Senior Gracen White as its 2024 Homecoming Queen, with senior Ragan Shrum earning the Maid of Honor title during ceremonies held Friday, Oct. 18 on the George Walker Field of Champions.

Woodlawn Gives Report to Public

RISON - The Woodlawn School District presented its annual Report to the Public last Tuesday night, Oct. 15, in the Woodlawn School cafeteria. The report included presentations by Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock, High School Principal T.J. Hill and Interim Elementary Principal Jeff Wylie.

Rison Homecoming Ceremonies Friday

RISON - Rison High School will hold its 2024 Homecoming Ceremonies this Friday, Oct. 19.The 2024 Homecoming Queen will be crowned during an afternoon ceremony at 1 p.m., which will conclude with a parade from the school to Main Street downtown around 1:40 p.m.

Cleveland County Put Under Burn Ban

RISON - Due to persistent dry conditions, County Judge Jimmy Cummings has issued a burn ban order for Cleveland County until further notice. The ban became effective at noon last Thursday, Oct. 10.  A burn ban means no outside burning of any kind is allowed.
