Annual Sales Tax Holiday To Be Held This Weekend

LITTLE ROCK - The annual Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday, which eliminates the sales tax on a variety of purchases in advance of the new school year, will be held 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, and continues until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, according to the Arkansas House of Representatives.

Woodlawn 8th, 9th Grade Registration

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn High School will have its final day of registration this Thursday, Aug. 1.Ninth grade students will register from 8 a.m. to noon;  and 8th grade students from 1 to 3 p.m.Seventh Grade Orientation will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the high school.

RISON - The Rison City Council’s regular monthly meeting for August will be combined with its September meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, the council decided during its July meeting.Mayor Charles Roberts requested the combined city council meeting due to a schedule conflict.
