Cleveland County Put Under Burn Ban

RISON - Due to persistent dry conditions, County Judge Jimmy Cummings has issued a burn ban order for Cleveland County until further notice. The ban became effective at noon last Thursday, Oct. 10.  A burn ban means no outside burning of any kind is allowed.

New Edinburg ‘57 Class Gathering Oct. 26 at Bridge Creek

Early Voting Begins This Monday, Oct. 21

RISON - Early voting for the 2024 general election will begin this Monday, Oct. 21, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across from the courthouse in Rison.The polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.

McClellan Family Reunion Oct. 19

NEW EDINBURG - Saturday, Oct. 19, the annual McClellan Reunion at the New Edinburg Community Center will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Lunch is potluck at 12 noon.  Please bring your family, a potluck dish, any family pictures of years past, and enjoy seeing and visiting with each other.

RISON - Halloween Events are beginning to be announced for Rison.Rison Shine Community Development, Inc. will host Trunk-or-Treat in Downtown Rison on Main Street beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29.The Green House Cottages will hold its October Fest from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. simultaneously.
