RISON - The Cleveland County Extension Service will host an Entrepreneur Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 27, at the Hall-Morgan Veterans Building, 404 Sycamore Street across from the courthouse in Rison. Guest speaker is Kimberly B. Magee with the UA Division of Agriculture.

Alternative School Proposed for Kingsland

RISON - The Cleveland County School Board voted to table a decision on moving Cleveland County Head Start students from Kingsland to the Rison after Superintendent Jerrod Williams informed the board that discussions are underway to possibly use the Kingsland campus as an alternative school.
VILLAGE SEES CROWD OF JUNKERS - Shoppers from all over stop by the Pioneer Village Saturday, March 9 to browse the junk for sale as part of the Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt. Organizer Jennifer Via reported people traveling the 600-plus mile route from neighboring states and as far away as Iowa, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Rison's Pioneer Village served as one the hub locations with multiple vendors set up selling junk.

Merged Junk Hunt Sees 'Great' Success Despite Rainy Start, Brings People To Arkansas

RISON - The Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt found great success this past weekend despite a rainy start, according to organizer Jennifer Via.This hunt marked the first run since the merger of the Historic Highway 35 Junk Hunt and the Highway 79-63 Junk Hunt Loop under the new name and expanded route.

Woodlawn Selects Clark Construction To Manage Projects

The Woodlawn School Board selected Clark Construction of Little Rock to serve as the construction manager for the district's proposed plans to build a new career education center and expand the school cafeteria, Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hancock said.

West Saline Water Hosting Public Hearing on Merger

NEW EDINBURG - The West Saline Water Users Association at New Edinburg has announced a public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the New Edinburg Community Center to discuss the possible merger of the West Saline, Outside Kingsland and City of Kingsland water systems.
