Mainline Health Recognized For Blood Pressure Control

MONTICELLO, Ark. - Mainline Health Systems Inc. (MHSI) has been recognized by the American Heart Association and American Medical Association for its commitment to improving blood pressure (BP) control rates, earning GOLD PLUS status level recognition as part of the Target: BP™ initiative.
Trent Southerland, a seventh grader at Rison Middle School, was named September Student of the Month for grades 7-9. Trent is the son of Tony and Marcie Howard, and Beau and Emily Southerland. He is the grandson of Petty and Vickie Taylor and Danny Howard. He has five siblings, Brock, Brady, Lane, Denver and Pennlee. His activities and honors include football, Beta club, basketball, baseball and church.

The 4H Poultry Chain program offers an opportunity for youth to learn about bird husbandry, health production, biosecurity, and potentially small business management. MIDNIGHT SOUTH TO PERFORM - Midnight South, consisting of band members from throughout Central Arkansas, will be one of the featured groups performing during Rison in the Fall next Saturday, Oct. 7, in downtown Rison. Midnight South describes itself as a group that utilizes shades of rock and roll, pop, and old-time music. The group was named the Arkansas Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year. Band members include Matt Sammons, Sam Williams, Darin Davis, Jeremy Castaldo and J.L. Jones.

Midnight South To Perform at Rison in the Fall

RISON - The reigning Arkansas Country Music Award-winning vocal group of the year Midnight South will perform at 6:30 p.m. on the Rise Up Rison Stage at this year's Rison in the Fall Festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 7.

Woodlawn Baseball Championship Ring Banquet Monday

WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Baseball Coach Tommy Richardson has announced that the 2023 State Championship Ring Presentation Banquet will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at the Woodlawn School cafeteria. The banquet will be catered with catfish. Tickets will be available at the door.

Cleveland County Rodeo Set For Friday, Saturday

RISON - The Cleveland County Fair Association will host a rodeo this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30 beginning at 8 p.m. nightly at the Fairgrounds. Buckles will be awarded to average winners in all events, with $5,000 in added money.
