RISON - Ronald Thompson of the Staves community was the first Cleveland County resident to report the sighting of purple martin to the Herald. He said encountered the bird on Tuesday, Feb. 25, outside his home.

Jury Renders Guilty Verdict in Firearm Possession Case

RISON - Gregory Patrick, 60, of the Rowell community, was sentenced to seven years in prison after a Cleveland County jury found him guilty of possession of a firearm by certain person in Cleveland County Circuit Court last Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the courthouse in Rison.

2024 Tax Books Open for Payment

RISON - Cleveland County Tax Collector Patty Wilson has announced that the 2024 tax books are now open for those wanting to pay their 2024 real and personal property taxes. Payments can be made from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m.

Cattleman’s Association Meeting March 27
