UAM Students Serve as Judges in Regional FBLA Competition

MONTICELLO — On February 5, seven University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) students served as judges for the Arkansas Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) academic competition for Mid-Level District III, held on UAM’s Monticello campus.

Johnson Signs with SAU Cheer Team

RISON - Cayla Johnson, a senior at Rison High School, signed her letter of intent to cheer for the Muleriders of Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. Cayla served as the captain of the 2024-25 RHS cheer squad and has cheered for the Wildcats for six years.
The Rison High School Student of the Month for January for grades 7-9 is Maddie Shirey. Maddie is a freshman and is the daughter of Jeremy and Jessica Shirey. She is a member of the Sr. Beta Club and has cheered for two years for the Rison Junior High School Wildcats. Maddie is also an honor student.

Frey Represents County at 4-H Day

RISON - Braydon Frey  represented Cleveland County at 4-H Day, March 4 at the Arkansas State Capitol. Hundreds of 4-H adults and youth members attend 4-H Day at the Capitol in Little Rock.

DEEP FREEZE - A couple of days of sub-freezing temperatures in Cleveland County resulted in what could be described as a frozen waterfall over the side of a stack of logs at the Wilson Brothers Saw Mill on Hwy. 79 south of Rison Tuesday.
