Kingsland To Hold Christmas Event Thursday Evening

KINGSLAND - The Busy Bee Extension Homemakers Club (EHC) at Kingsland will be sponsoring a Kingsland Community Christmas Gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Kingsland City Hall.Festivities include the singing of Christmas carols, a reading of the Christmas story, and refreshments.

Small Ruminant Workshop Set For Dec. 13 at Sheridan

SHERIDAN - The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and the Arkansas Goat Producers Association will be hosting the South-Central Arkansas Small Ruminant Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 13, at the Grant County Fairgrounds, 4548 Hwy. 167 in Sheridan.

Senior Center Christmas Open House Dec. 11

RISON - Area Agency on Aging’s Rison Senior Center will hold a Christmas Open House Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.Puzzles that were put together by the seniors are available for a small donation.The Center is located at 730 Pecan Street.

Cayce’s Give Away To Be Held Dec. 14

THORNTON - Cayce’s Charities will open the big gym in Thornton for a huge free give away from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at 715 Dr. Rhine Drive in Thornton.The deadline has passed for you to put a child on our Christmas list but everyone is welcome to come to the gym and shop.

Cut Trees Blamed For Thanksgiving C&L Power Outage

RISON - More than 1,400 C&L Electric Cooperative customers in mostly eastern Cleveland County experienced a temporary power outage last week on Thanksgiving morning.C&L Electric announced that 1,427 out of 4,878 tracked meters (29.25 percent) were without power in areas mostly along and around Hwy.

EHC Group Plays Bingo at the Green House Cottages

RISON - Every month the "Y" Extension Homemakers Club goes to the Green House Cottages to play bingo with the residents. This month it was held at the Sadler Cottage Monday, Nov. 18, and residents from the other Cottages come to join in on the fun and games.

RISON - The Rison United Methodist Church Choir will host The First Noel Cantata Sunday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. at the church.An encore variation of the program will be performed Friday, Dec. 20 at the Rison Shine and Pioneer Village’s special Christmas Food Truck Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
